Cyberdefense: An Option to Strengthen Cybersecurity Capabilities in Peru

Abstract

This article examines how cyberdefense capabilities can support and strengthen cybersecurity activities within the Peruvian context. Through the analysis of the Lima 2019 Panamerican and Parapanamerican Games case, it evaluates how the incorporation of strategies and operational procedures specific to cyberdefense enhanced cyber resilience against potential cyber threats, highlighting their applicability in protecting national critical assets. The relationship between cybersecurity and cyberdefense is discussed from both theoretical and practical perspectives, offering a strategic view of how these capabilities can be integrated to reinforce digital security in Peru.
