Strategic Geopolitical Analysis of The Chancay Mega Port: Prospects for National Security
Abstract
The Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal represents a great opportunity for Peru's economic and social development, as well as a challenge for national security. This article analyzes the strategic impact of this infrastructure from a geopolitical approach, considering development opportunities, multidimensional security challenges, and international implications. Using a qualitative methodology based on documentary analysis, current security capabilities, emerging risks, and the strategies outlined in the Strategic National Development Plan and the National Security and Defense Policy are examined. This article also highlights the need to strengthen security capabilities, navigate astutely among powers, and maintain a geopolitical balance to take advantage of the port's transformative potential for promoting national development.
